Goroke in western Victoria. An old COR sign. The Australian government started an Australian gas or petrol company after World War Two. It was the Commonwealth Oil Refineries sign.

Wilmington. The Tuckwell residence in the Main Street. It was built around 1890 with decorated false keystones above the windows and with fancy quoins. Tuckwell was a draper and operated the Beau Val Butter Factory.

Geelong. 44 Corio Street. As marked the old Wool Exchange where Western Districts wool was bought and sold. Built 1927 to 1928 in neo classical style.

Wilmington. The undertaker and carpenters shop in the Main Street. Built around 1883. Town established 1876 but most buildings date from 1880 or later.

Biggenden Queensland. The railway line from Maryborough reached here in 1891. It is now closed. The station is now the local mens' shed.

Bendigo. MacKenzie Street. This is Osborne House built in 1869 as a house and private school. The school closed in 1880. This is next door to a row of terrace houses and near the Catholic Cathedral. .

Burra. SA. The womens exercise yard and outside dunny at Redruth Gaol built in 1856 in this great copper mining town. Closed in 1894. 1897 became reformatory for girls till 1922. Now a museum. .

Forbes. This National Bank was erected in 1884 and is still in possession of the National Bank. Note the very fine cast iron veranda pillars.

Strathalbyn. Built 1860s as Henry Bonnars school. A state school from 1875 to 1880 when new school built. Purchased as Catholic Church 1880. Became Catholic church hall 1914 when new Strathalbyn Catholic church built.

Fryerstown. The ruins of the Duke of Cornwall gold mine engine house. This old gold mine is on the outskirts of Fryerstown. Evidence of gold mining and ruins are everywhere in this district.

Silverton. The old 1883 silver mining town is now a ghost town. But this art gallery survives. Silverton is near Broken Hill and near the NSW South Australia border.

Cradock South Australia on the way to Hawker in the Flinders Ranges. Beyond Goyder's Line but town created 1878 and land sold to wheat farmers. Catholic church opened 1883. Has been a weekender for many years. An area of disappointment for farmers.

Broken Hill. This was the Marist Brothers school for boys opened in 1927. In 1973 it combined with St Joseph's school to become Sacred Heart College. Opposite the Catholic Cathedral.

Moonta. Old copper mining town. This grand banking facade in the classical style was built in 1865 for the Bank of SA. Became the Union Bank as shown on parapet in 1892. Closed as a bank in 1943.
