Moonta Mines historic copper mine site. The ruins of the Hughes Smith and Elder shafts' concentrating plant near the Hughes Enginehouse. Built 1865. Sea water was pumped here and mixed with sulphuric acid.

Adelaide. The Mitchell building built 1881 at the University of Adelaide. In front is the statue of Sir Walter Watson Hughes of Moonta Mines who donated 20,000 pounds to start the university in 1872.
