New Plymouth Taranaki. The White Hart ( stag) Hotel. Built in 1886 replacig an earlier 1844 wooden hotel. The balconies were added in 1909 by the architect Francis Messenger.

Bendigo. St Pauls Anglican Cathedral. The church was built in 1868 and added to in 1872. The chancel and transepts were added in 1927. The fine tower was the 1872 addition. It became the Anglican Cathedral of Bendigo in 1981.

Broken Hill. The silver lead and zinc mines attracted miners from all over the world. By 1900 BH was the third city of NSW. The Jewish Synagogue opened in 1922. Closed in 1962.

Redhill. The broad gauge railway from Adelaide reached here in 1925. The standard gauge line was built 1969. The old platform and the newer railway station.

Port Fairy. Doorway of the Wesleyan Methodist church built in 1855 in a Classical style. The land was donated by James Atkinson the holder of the original Belfast Special Survey. The wooden manse is 1899 and the School Hall is behind church is 1870.

Wasleys. Old photograph of the once large Wasleys Railway Station. The railway from Gawler reached here in 1868. Trains to Burra passed through Wasleys from 1870. Station now demolished .A scene from the busy 1970s.

Colac. St Johns Anglican Church built in red brick with a square tower in 1870. Narrow Gothic windows. The transept is a later addition with different coloured bricks.

Point Pearce Aboriginal Community on Yorke Peninsula near Port Victoria. The last of the old limestone houses built in the late 19th century. The rest have been replaced with modern housing.

Birregurra. This Gothic Anglican parish hall was probably the original Anglican Church. The stone church was built in 1877. The town was established in the 1850s.

Magnificent Port Augusta branch of Bank of SA building erected 1881. Taken over by Union Bank 1882 and closed as a bank forever in 1894. Good classical style and proportions.

Goolwa. The first horse tram railway in Australia opened here in 1853. That was at a different spot. This is the current railway station used only by Steamranger tourist trains to Victor Harbor and Mt Barker.

Geelong. Former YMCA building 78 Yarra Street. Art Deco style windows, classical open clam style entrance and Greek wreaths above pillasters. Built 1932. Architect Schefferle. Funds raised by returned soldiers for it.

Strathalbyn. High Street. Harringtons old store known as London House. Now an antiques shop. built 1867 with stables at rear for Cobb and Co coaches.

Muckleford. Near Maldon. Ruins of the old Orrville Hotel. John Orr bought land at Muckleford in 1854 because of the gold mines nearby. The Orrville Hotel opened around 1855.
