Ikara Flinders National Park. Wilpena Creek carved a deep gorge providing the only entry exit from the flat centre of the Pound. The Pound is a natural ampitheatre surrounded by high mountains.

Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park. The old homestead in the middle of this natuual amphitheatre which was used for grazing and even growing wheat. Recently restored.

Gordon ghost town on the Willochra Plains in the Flinders Ranges. Established 1879. A ghost town by the 1930s. A persistent galvanised water tank survives and little else..

Kapunda. The Dutton copper mine chimney. Built in 1850 by Cornish miners. The Dutton mine began around 1842. The chimney was linked to the boiler house and the draft from the furnace fires was released up this chimney stack.

First rail line out of Adelaide was to Gawler in 1857. It reached the copper town of Kapunda in 1860. Here is marvellous bluestone and brick Gawler Railway Station.
