| 説明 | painting based on photograph of flickr member solea, oil painting on canvase stretched over birch panel, 30" x 40"hand mixed gesso. This is a special painting.technically and astheticly speaking, I took a few liberties to cause some specific effects. I wanted her to walk off the boat and out of the painting. I used warm undertones to try to achieve this. i also tried to draw the eye more to the direction the action seemed to be moving. Personally, . I wanted to do something for my brother, special, that would mean something for both of us. 2005 was a year of huge change and long voyages for us both. Going away, coming home, going away again, and learning how to do both and be both at the same time, as well as our endless pursuit of peace and quiet in our own lives. Home is where you make it. I'm very grateful to Carmen (solea) for letting me use the image. It started the conversation in the first place. |
