| 説明 | B 46370.Officers of the tenth Battalion A.I.F.Pre war photograph of the 78th Militia which was known as the 10th Australian Infantry pre 1912 (Adelaide Rifles) and many of the officers went in the new 10th AIF in 1914. The uniforms are classic pre-war militia (reserve) . Their badges are a mixture of the old ‘10th’ Militia badges (pre 1912) and the new ‘78’s. The picture title refers I think to the fact that the C.O., Col. Price Weir and many officers ended up in the 10th AIF. Middle row, 3rd from rhs is Lieutenant Eric Wilkes Talbot Smith who died 30 April 1915. His South Australian Red Cross Information Bureau record is held at the State Library of South Australia SRG 76/1/60Middle Row, 4th rhs Captain Ernest Albert Warren.
