| 説明 | The unique Type 82 Destroyer HMS Bristol, 6,300 tons, commissioned 1972 as the lead ship in a class intended to escort a new aircraft carrier which in the event was cancelled - as was the remainder of the Type 82's on order. The Bristol is also highly unusual in havong three funnels, the rear two of them being parallel to one another. Although a very expensive ship to run, it lasted in service a long time, which must indicate it had some virtues! It has now been reduced to a static training ship at Portsmouth Dockyard, 07/13. |
