| 説明 | It a surprisingly long distance from that viewpoint to the hop off point where one takes a boat onto the Volcano Island proper. We had to drive round a mountain and then descend steeply from the Tagaytay Ridge onto sea level to get to the resort from where our boat will leave. As we enter Talisay, the small town where the resort is located, we have to pass under this welcome arch. I found some surprisingly beautful and up market villas all around. The volcano which is dangerously close by is technically still an active one, though it hasn't erupted in a while now. I shudder to think what would happen if it did. The lake will offer some protection probably. (Manila- Tagaytay, Philippines, May 2013) |
