| 説明 | Youngest and I ventured back into the forest of Narnia tonight. As always, it's not the photographs that make the trips worthwhile, it's the adventure--and tonight we had plenty of it. Youngest got to walk in the creek unassisted for the first time. He spent most of his time throwing rocks and leaves. We ventured in further than ever, getting stopped only by thick brush and knee deep mud. There's nothing like carrying a toddler on your hip, camera gear on your back, and half of your legs disappearing in mud. Had I been wearing the wrong footwear I would surely have had to surrender it, but fortunately was prepared. Youngest was scared at first but once he figured out we'd be okay he got quite the charge out of it, as did I. SQUISH _giggle_ SQUISH _giggle_ ... and so on. He also loved being carried up the steep embankment about twenty feet as we searched for a mud-free return. We found a trail that eventually circled around to our point of origin and made our way home, stopping briefly at the creek to wash the mud off. Youngest sat in an abandoned office chair (in the Narnian creek!) while I cleaned up, and then we headed back to the car. High-five little buddy, another safe and successful trip to Narnia. |
