| 説明 | Members of the Maryland Army National Guard’s 291st Army Liaison Team gather with family and friends for a deployment ceremony at the Adelphi Readiness Center on Saturday, July 13. The five-man team of Soldiers will depart this weekend for Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Mississippi for additional training. After about 30 days they will then deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and the NATO lead International Security Assistance Force for less than a year. “We are ready and we’re well trained for this mission,” said Lt. Col. Kevin Warren, senior officer for the deployment. “We’re going to lookout for each other and we will be back soon.” The unit has participated in numerous overseas training exercises to include Key Resolve and Uluchi Freedom Guardian in South Korea and Austere Challenge in Israel. During state emergencies the unit serves as the liaison unit for Joint Task Force Maryland and National Capital Region. The 291st is in the process of converting to a new digital liaison detachment. |
