| 説明 | From the Thadeus Johnson Special CollectionThad Johnson was a Texas clergyman who enlisted when the US entered World War One. After flight training at Rockwell Field in San Diego, he went to France and served as an observation pilot. He remained in the Army after the War and in 1927, while commanding a flight escorting Charles Lindbergh to Canada, a midair collision ended his life.
