| 説明 | After paying for our durian, the stall fellow simply split it into two and gave us each a pair of plastic gloves (the type used by food handlers). The idea was that eac of us attack a pod and scoop out the flesh with our gloved hands. It did feel rather creepy, and gooey and slimy. But the fruit was fairly tasty (durian is an acquired taste), and once we slipped off our rather slimy and gooey gloves, our hands were bone dry and ready to go! We didn't even have to wash them afterwards. Simple solution, if a messy one. (Davao, Philippines, May 2013) |
