説明 | Lt. Col (Ret.) Barry B. Bridger is a highly decorated United States Air Force veteran and survivor of six years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam's infamous “Hanoi Hilton” prison camp. On January 23, 1967, Barry was shot down over Son Tay, North Vietnam, by a surface-to-air missile. He was subsequently captured by the North Vietnamese and imprisoned. During his internment, he was subjected to daily beatings and was routinely tortured along with other fellow Americans. Following his repatriation in March 1973, Mr. Bridger re-qualified as a rated aviator and held various positions in the US Air Force to include the Air Force representative to the US Army Command and General Staff College. In October 1984, Mr. Bridger retired after 22 years of service in the Air Force. Since his retirement, he has given lectures on his experiences during his captivity and how it relates to leadership in very challenging situations. (U. S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
