| 説明 | Giovan Battista Fornasari and Abbot Ippolito Fornasari were law professors at the University of Bologna in the second half of the seventeenth century. The fresco depicts Dawn and Sunset, Justice and Right. The courtyard of the Archiginnasio, the original University building, is filled with such monuments and plaques to students and professors. The inscription above the door is a nice expression of civic independence modelled after ancient Rome's SPQR: Senatus Populusque Bononiensis |
