| 説明 | Cloyne is a student co-op that houses about 150 people. It's a beautiful old redwood building that was once a residential hotel for U.C. Berkeley faculty. I lived in Cloyne for about three years, starting in 1983. Apparently, the house went into a decline shortly after I left Berkeley. A number of students from another co-op had moved in, bringing with them a much more anarchic (and less cooperative) ethic than had previously been common in Cloyne. After hearing stories about how the house had been trashed during this time of factionalization and anarchy, I was worried about what I would see when I came to take this picture in 2003. I was happily surprised to see that the house, and especially the garden, were even more beautiful than when I had lived there. |
