説明 | Actually, it's destined for Heywood via Ramsbottom and Bury Bolton Street. This is a Class 117 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) which is preserved in it's original British Railways green livery carrying the fleet number on the sides as (W5139 & W51382).They enetered normal passenger service in 1959 and were largely based in the Western Region for suburban services out of London Paddington and were also used in Cardiff, they were later moved to Birmingham and Scotland (this unit must of been based there upon withdrawl as Connel Ferry is right near Connel Bridge). They were all withdrawn by 2000 and some are now in preservation, including this beauty which is used here on the East Lancashire Railway, a heritage railway which links Heywood with Rawtenstall, LancashireTaken this afternoon (Thursday 28th March), it's seen leaving here in Rawtenstall and is heading towards Bury. |
