説明Left: 1906 Renault 14/20hp XBFrenchEstablished in 1899, the Societe Renault Freres employed 600 workers within four years. From 1901, Renault chassis were imported to Great Britain. New for 1904, the 14hp model with radiator behind the engine and often-luxurious coachwork, was developed from a racing Renault. Bodied by Hooper of London, this example was built for King Edward VII. Following his death in 1910, it was used by Queen Alexandra and subsequently by King George V.Conservation work, involving careful cleaning and application of a special reversible varnish to the paintwork, has preserved the original patina. With permission from the Royal Mews, the car retains its Royal Claret livery.Cylinders: In-line 4Capacity: 3054ccMaximum Speed: 40mphValves: SidePower Output: Not knownPrice New: £520 (chassis only)Manufacturer: Renault Freres, Billancourt, ParisOwner: National Motor Museum Trust (Bequest of Mr J.M. In 1914 Argyll went bankrupt, although there was a post-war revival, the company finally closed in 1932. This car has been in the same family since new, being a wedding present to Mrs Poore from her husband. Restoration was by the Museum's Workshops.Cylinders: 4Capacity: 4084ccMaximum Speed: 40mphPrice New: £825Model Current: 1913-1914Manufacturer: Argyll Motors Ltd, GlasgowOwner: Poore LtdHousing a collection of over 250 automobiles and motorcycles telling the story of motoring on the roads of Britain from the dawn of motoring to the present day, the award winning (Winner - The International Historic Motoring Awards of the Year 2012) National Motor Museum appeals to all age groups. From World Land Speed Record Breakers including Campbell’s famous Bluebird to film favourites such as the magical flying car, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and rare oddities like the giant orange on wheels. Don’t miss exciting extra features such as the Motorsport Gallery, Wheels and Jack Tucker's Garage - A permanent, multi award-winning 1930's garage has been created within the Museum, complete down to the last nut and bolt and rusty drainpipe. Whilst the building is a complete fabrication, everything in it - all the fixtures, fittings, tools and ephemera - are genuine artefacts collected over a period of 25 years.
