| 説明 | Lieut-Col. Charles Michel de Salaberry’s name is closely associated with Les Voltigeurs Canadiens, a light infantry militia regiment raised in Lower Canada during the War of 1812. De Salaberry and his Voltigeurs managed to fend off a numerically superior American force at Chateauguay, southwest of Montreal, in October of 1813, by employing tactics that made his troops appear stronger in force than they actually were. Perhaps better known in Quebec than in the rest of Canada, Charles-Michel de Salaberry, the “Hero of Chateauguay”, was featured in a World War II army recruitment poster in Quebec.Title: UnknownCreator: UnknownDate: UnknownPublished: UnknownIdentifier: F5_1939-45 Historical Pictures 3LFormat: EphemeraRights: Public domainCourtesy: Toronto Public Library.
