| 説明 | The root word conveys the sense of forgiving, pardoning past sins and surplus. They are associated with guarding against evil, reconciliation, protectively forgiving, overlooking, mercy and the Attribute Al Afuwwu is associated with the Attributes Al Ghafoor and Al Qadeer. The words giving opposite meaning are punishment and perishing which is painful, i.e., bestowing pleasure and life appear to be inherent in Afwu.The Attribute Al Afuwwu conveys the sense of One Who pardons (wipes of evil effects) of past sins compared to Al Ghafoor which means One Who not only forgives past sins but also protects from future sins. Pardoning or wiping off of our past sins by Allah SWT appears to be in response to our repentance followed by "Taqwa" and Islah. This pardoning may sometimes be in surplus in the sense that evil is converted to good and then rewarded....he who repented then belived and did righteous work, then for them Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds... (Chapter 25: Verse 70)Seeking pardon from Allah involves three Attributes of His:1- Al Afuwwu - He first pardons the past sins.2- Al Ghafoor - He protects from future sins and3- Al Rahman - He changes evil deeds to good deeds. This is hinted at in the last verse of Chapter 2.Al Afuwwu is thus One Who pardons and wipes off sin. |
