| 説明 | A minor bonus of a recent trip to Lacock Abbey was the exhibition of life-sized wire sculptures in its grounds.This is part of the "Inner Spirit" series, all the work of Derek Kinzett, a local artist. It consisted of 8 or so human and semi-human forms. And a 2/3rds size Harley-Davidson. All very impressive.I was particularly struck by the incongruous and paradoxical nature of this particular sculpture. Sat on wicker chair surrounded by crocuses and snowdrops, she looks languorous but enraptured by the book. There is the hint of sexuality (mmm - that could be just me) but it had just been snowing and the temperature was hovering around 2ºC. And I think sexy outdoor book reading is difficult to do when it is wet and freezing cold. |
