I spent four days in the capital, and my emphasis was primarily to cover various topics that I had learned in my high school history and government/civics classes.And this definitely is a historical spot: President Abraham Lincoln died in the basement of this house, on the morning of 15 April 1865, after having been shot in the head at Ford's Theatre the previous evening, just behind me. |
