説明 | In 1996, I made my first-ever visit to Washington, DC, using the Election Day long weekend, while I was a college student in New York City. I spent four days in the capital, and my emphasis was primarily to cover various topics that I had learned in my high school history and government/civics classes.Looking south. The Jefferson Memorial is seen right across the Tidal Pool. Beyond it are I-395 and Amtrak rail bridges to Virginia and beyond. In the distance can be seen Washington National Airport, which would be renamed after President Ronald Reagan in 1998, as well as Arlington's Crystal City office/shopping area to its right. |
