| 説明 | The Horse Fair mosaic in Holloway Circus is the only remaining 1960s mosaic to still be in the original position (as Holloway Circus was never demolished).Since my original 2009 photos, this mosaic seems to be in a bit of bad state.Certain bits of the mosaic appear to be missing.This is the mural depicting the activities in Horse Fair from 1215 to around 1911.It was unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Alderman H. E. Tyler in 1966.According to the plaque - it depicts the activities in the Horse Fair which took place in this area until 1911 and was the last remaining fair of the charter granted by Henry III in 1215.Panoramic of 5 vertical shots of the mosaic of Horse Fair. Re-edited in 2021.Perhaps it could be restored to it's original condition (by the people doing the JFK one in Digbeth).By Kenneth Budd, 1967. |
