| 説明 | Abandoned railroad signal cabinet or box in the bushes between the Milwaukee River and Erie Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lettering on outside of enclosure reads "General Railway Signal Co. Rochester, NY." In the Third Ward, near the CNW/UP swing bridge and the grade crossing at Erie / Polk / Jefferson. September 2012. Does anyone know more about what exactly this structure was for? The Erie Street grade crossing is nearby but there is another more modern control box adjacent to the road. The CNW swing bridge over the Milwaukee River is also close by - maybe this was associated with the bridge controls or signalling? |
