Ma, Jae-sangUSAG Humphreys Public AffairsCAMP HUMPHREYS – The Humphreys American School hosted a Winter Holiday Concert, Dec. 13, in the Super Gym.The concert was a celebration of the accomplishments of the students. Also, it is a chance to unite the community during the holiday season, warming the hearts of family and friends. Both music and drama were performed on the same stage.“The performances of the music and drama students were combined this year so that we could showcase both programs, together, to a larger audience,” said Susanne Wall, HAS music director. And she also explained that there were a number of students who are involved in both programs, so it made sense to host both groups on the same night. During the showcase, the audience clapped and laughed at the kids’ witty acting.Pfc. Jorge Melendez, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, said “Everybody is happy, especially the kids, who are having fun.”For some people, the concert brought them back to their teenage years.Pfc. Joseph Anderson, assigned to B Company, 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion, said “The music reminded me of my high school days. I used to play music with my friends. I loved all the performances. You can tell they worked very hard. They impressed me.”Jamie Wollman, the HAS assistant principal, said “The students did a beautiful job. I’m very proud of them, and of the teachers who prepared this concert, I think they did good job, too.”“The night was a big success due to the teamwork of the middle school staff,” Wall said. “They put out a tremendous effort and have been preparing for this concert for months. They also demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and pride. They have all been a great joy to work with.” |
