| 説明 | Steve and Barbara HeasleyBeverly, WVEmma Scott Garden Club West Virginia Garden Club, Inc.The Heasleys moved into their historic home in Beverly, WV on Halloween Day 30 years ago. The original structure (the William Rowan house) was built in the late 1700s and is one of the oldest homes in Beverly, West Virginia, making up the Beverly Historic district. The house is listed on the National Historic Registry as a principal property within the historic district. The Heasleys have done extensive restoration over the past 30 years. No plantings existed when the owners moved in except for a large apple tree (which blew down in a storm and was fashioned into the present front door), one overgrown evergreen shrub outside the kitchen, and one rose of sharon plopped in the middle of the back yard. The Heasleys quickly became committed to creating a beautiful garden space in their small yard. Existing now are espaliered fruit trees, several raised vegetable/fruit beds, a significant perennial/shrub bed, a "secret garden" and a raised herb garden. |
