説明 | As you might remember from last year, the Cheerlights project allows people around the world to synchronize the color of their Christmas light displays via the internet. The tree that I built last year worked pretty good, though I decided to update it this year by adding wireless color syncing. Not that we’ll carry it around or anything, but we can now place it anywhere without worrying about a wired network connection. Here it is connected to an external battery pack. You can see the new antenna poking out the top of the wooden electronics enclosure. That small antenna belongs to a XBee module that the tree's Arduino uses to talk to a Raspberry Pi in another room. The Pi has an internet connection and runs a python script to grab the Cheerlights color when the tree asks for it. I've posted my code at: github.com/BabyWrassler/CheerlightsXBee2012Change the Cheerlights color yourself by sending a tweet that contains both “@Cheerlights” and a color (supported colors are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, cyan, magenta, white, warmwhite, and purple). |
