| 説明 | Community members surrounding the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake volunteered for several clean-up activities throughout the month of September in celebration of National Public Lands Day. This annual observance unites people across the nation to volunteer at public lands. Groups that volunteered at Russell Lake include: Elbert County Middle School Future Farmers of America, the Lake Russell Recreation and Tourism Coalition, Calhoun Falls Young Farmers Association, and the Elbert Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. All groups helped pick up trash on both the South Carolina and Georgia side of the lake along roadways, boat ramps and shorelines. USACE photo. |
