| 説明 | when the cannery operated, the various jobs were assigned by race. the worst job, gutting the fish, was done by chinese laborors. after a few decades the cannery got a machine to gut the fish and fired all the chinese laborors. as a tribute to the chinese men who lost their jobs, they named the machine "the iron chink" |
