| 説明 | You know how you decide to do something crazy. .... Well a road trip up York Road across the PA line is well....downright crazy considering it was November and the temps were dipping below zero. At that point camera equipment doesn't act right and your finger tips get numb quickly. Despite gloves and hot packs, my poor fingers from the knuckle to the tips were screaming for a warm beach and some summer sun. But the trip was fun and since the air was clear, we were able to get some amazing shots of the Maryland and Pennsylvania countryside. This barn is somewhere just across the Maryland state line. Not quite to the Mason-Dixon Line but pretty close. If you get a chance and decide to take the trip up York Road, there are several cemeteries along the way. We actually started our trip at St. John's Episcopal Church on Greenmount. Beside the Church is a small but fairly old cemetery. As you make your way on York Road towards Northern Parkway, stop into Govan's Presbyterian Church to see their quaint little cemetery. I liked going there in the fall, because the trees turn an amazing rainbow of colors. There are two more churches with fairly decent cemeteries. One sits on a hill before you get into the heart of Hunt Valley the other is a bit hidden and you have to look for the sign that tells you there is a church there. We missed it and had to double back a quarter of a mile. The church sits back a ways on a hidden road. Be patient. It is worth the drive. Very nice cemetery and quaint church. There was one more, but I can't remember where It sort of crops up on a hill next to York Road once you are in PA. There were lots of old signs and a few old gas pumps, and lots of beautiful houses. Also, I forgot the Fire Museum of Maryland is also on York Road. I haven't been there yet, but look forward to a visit one day soon. It is a nice little trip and it takes a couple of hours, if you are stopping and taking in the various scenery. If you decide to make the trip, I'd love to see your images. Post them below. |
