| 説明 | From Imachar the route passes Machrie Bay where I took a brief stop at the roadside golf clubhouse for a needed cold drink, its so warm today and I can hardly believe my luck with the weather. 2012 has delivered one of the worst summers on record, an unseasonally hot week in March has been followed by record-breaking levels of rainfall in the north while hosepipe bans are in force down south. And look at this I've got it just perfect, time to buy a lottery ticket.. The route takes the alternating shoreline and then I default to the road when the going gets rough or too slow. Every so often a bus trundles by there are no stops you simply wave it down, the joys of island living. Really this level of tarmac means that the Arran Coastal Way will never be a classic walk purely from the walking point of view but its very hard to be too critical when the roads are as quiet as this and the views quite wonderful. At the bend in the road I got back to the shoreline but not before taking a break, got my boots and socks off and had a refreshing paddle, over the water Kintyre pulls like a magnet, but that must wait a while.. |
