説明 | In the past, the finished moai in their final position had coral eyeball inserts which may have been present at all times or possibly just during particular ceremonies. Regardless, today only this moai on Ahu Ko Te Riku at Tahai has (replica) eyeballs. This moai is also one of the few with a pukao (topknot; pronounced “poo-cow”), a late addition to the moai culture. The pukao was not a hat but rather was a representation of men’s hairstyle of the time.On Google Earth:Ahu Ko Te Riku (1 moai) at Tahai 27° 8'21.92"S, 109°25'36.65"W |
