| 説明 | May 2012 This is a walnut burl wall decoration that doubles as a light fixture. Made around 1939, it debuted at the 1940 New York World's Fair where Esherick had an exhibition of his work, "Pennsylvania Hill House". On its interior surface, Esherick carved a small groove to allow light to softly refract from the wall's surface and into the living area. At the exhibition, it beautifully illuminated the cherry walls that later became the paneling in the Museum's dining room. Afterwards, it retired to Esherick's bedroom. |
