The caramelised apples were almost dried and gave it a really good chewy texture and the tart, supposedly apple, syrup was a nice foil for the smoky bacon.If I were picky, I'd say that the French Toast was a bit of a cheat. I prefer the egg mixture to totally saturate the bread so that it is like a fluffy omelette. I suspect that they put a bit of egg mixture in a hot pan and slapped the baguette on it.
