| 説明 | Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District, Installation Management Command Europe, U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden and HBM German construction agency officially opened Newman Village Housing Area June 14, 2012 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new neighborhood includes a mix of 326 three- and four-bedroom units. Six four-bedroom general officer quarters have also been constructed. Each unit boasts an attached garage, front and back yards, built-in closets, built-in kitchens and sustainable design highlights. The housing area will exceed strict German energy standards, using almost 50% less primary energy than allowable. Sustainable solutions in the community include thermal insulation systems, double paned windows and a rain water retention basin. Residents will enjoy two sports fields (under phased construction), a running path, gazebos and playgrounds.
