| 説明 | Maybe halfway up the climb, where the gravel gave way to packed dirt- much smoother for the rest of the climb. It's a Surly Cross-Check, with a 50-34 compact double and a huge 9-spd cassette (34 tooth big cog). The gearing was great for this trip- the climbing rarely made me wish for a lower gear, but the descending often had me in my highest. I was expecting warm temps throughout the trip, so I attached the four bottle cages to the fork, which worked out great except that one of the cages broke from the rattling of the gravel roads. I often went through three bottles of water before having a chance to re-fill (I could also reach the bottles while riding) and I liked not having a camel bak giving me a sweaty back. Two of the bottles were filled with powder- Heed and Perpetuem- which was almost enough for the three of us for a week. |
