説明 | I am at Kbal Spean- the river (or valley) of the 1000 Lingas, which is one of the scores of Angkor era religious sites which dot the countryside around Siem Reap, Cambodia. Kbal Spean is known for the sahasralingas or 1000 lingas (Hindu male phallic symbol) which are carved on the rocky bed of Kbal Spean River atop a mountain. A grid pattern layout with the channel flowing out represents Yoni, the female counterpart. That part is damaged/ weathered, and that's the square thingy you can make out faintly at the far end. Detailed notes about and several pictures of Kbal Spean appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). (Siem Reap, Cambodia, Oct. 2008) |
