| 説明 | The Knavesmire is home to York Racecourse, which will be hosting Royal Ascot this year. Racing season doesn't start until May so it's pretty quiet now. It's one of the largest areas of green space in York so it's regularly used by dog walkers and kite flyers. In winter when the River Ouse floods this is used as a flood plain, and in 2000 the whole area became one big lake. There were even people canoeing and windsurfing on it.The building to the right of the picture is the Terry's factory, the home of Terry's Chocolate Orange and All Gold. |
