| 説明 | The large sculpted faces of The Bayon come into view with a restoration workshop in the foreground- yes, you need to look carefully to spot the massive faces. In face the large, serene faces staring staring down at you are the most distinctive feature of The Bayon. This temple is part of the Angkor Thom ruins and is one of the scores of Angkor era temples which dot the countryside all around Siem Reap, Cambodia. The size and grandeur of The Bayon temple can be appreciated here. In the foreground are stones, and equipment and other paraphernalia of the restoration crew. Japanese, British and Indian Governments are playing a big role in the restoration of the Angkor temples. Here, you can see a lot of the restoration equipment on site, but it is all covered under blue tarp and there were no crews at work. This is because they had probably broken up for the monsoons. Detailed notes about the Angkor Thom ruins appeared earliler in this album (see previous pictures) and more notes about The Bayon appear later as we go along in this album. (see subsequent images).
