| 説明 | Members of the Maryland National Guard 104th Medical Company received firsthand medical experience during their annual training at Fort Gordon, Ga., June 2 -16, by working directly with their active duty counterparts at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center on post.The Soldiers were assigned to sections within the hospital based on their Military Occupation Specialty, including working in the emergency room, working with x-ray and lab technicians, as well as helping in Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder mental health sessions. Not only did the 104th medical personnel get the opportunity to get real-world patient interaction, they also had the chance to learn how to use new medical tools that they had never worked with before such as different x-ray equipment.The unit members also used the annual training as a chance to conduct their Emergency Medical Technician recertification that has to take place every two years. They participated in the EMT refresher course at the Combat Medic Training Center where they engaged in performing suturing, practice with delivering babies, employing different intravenous techniques, and other temporary lifesaving measures. |
