| 説明 | The 'Dionysus Villa', which dates from the second half of the 2nd century AD, is actually a complex of buildings, with luxurious living quarters built around four atriums and a tetrastyle courtyard, a shrine of Dionysus, a bathhouse and shops. The excavations brought to light a wealth of sculptures and pieces of the costly furniture that once stood in the formal reception rooms. The floor mosaic in the banqueting room, depicting a triumphal epiphany of Dionysus copied from a Hellenistic painting, is exceptionally fine. |
