| 説明 | The first section of the East Highland Way leaves Fort William along the busy A82 then heads into Glen Spean at Torlundy where I camped in a steady fall of rain which has yet to tire! this morning has been pleasant enough, its not cold and very little wind, just rain and marching towards absent horizons... There is a longer hillside alternative to standard route along the road giving about a kilometere of tarmac to get to the Commando junction in Spean Bridge, a place stirring up memories of long past days Munroing in the surrounding hills. There is a short local walk taking in the Commando Memorial and the old Spean Bridge, scene of a 1745 skirmish between Jacobite and Government forces marshalled to counter the clans rallying to Bonnie Prince Charlies standard, something for another day. |
