説明Description and Transcription from Henry Paget-Lowe (Juha-Matti Rajala):[The card seems to date to c. 13 October as HPL evidently refers to Sunday, 9 Oct. 1932.. The microfilm based xerox is very difficut to read in places, but here's my best guess:]Welcome back to the old town! I see you’re in the American section this time. Wish I were in your latitude among the palms & {?_woods} right now. It’s beastly cold today—although last Sunday was so mild that I took an antiquarian trip to Salem & Marblehead—old Arkham & Kingsport. ¶ Sorry to learn of the ironic fate of poor Tarbis, & hope {it’ll fare} better with King Pharnabazus. Well, no—I haven’t mentioned giving any advise in connexion with its formulation. S.T. will be missed by those who {wished to have} a chance of making it {regularly}—Smith, Whitehead, Howard, &c. To me personally, the matter is more or less academic. Sorry Pale Hands hasn’t landed yet—but I’m sure Balkis {must stand} a good chance. Congratulations on the detective tale & {?novelette sale}. By the way—somebody tells me that Oriental is changing its name to The Magic Carpet & {will be issued} monthly . . . {?Trust Wright [illegible]}! ¶ Am still thinking of Randolph {Carter’s final fate}, & hoping I can get around to {?fixing the} collaboration when present {?pressures [illegible]}. If I can’t do anything effective, I may {?call} in the aid of Klarkash-Ton—{?who [illegible] I‘ve} mentioned his possible assistance. He has just done a splendid ending for Beckford’s unfinished Vathek episode. ¶ I {read in} the papers that the French Market {is definitely} doomed. A damn shame, when all {?the needed} is—fumigation! ¶ Well—Allah & {[illegible] ?attend} thee! [signature]["Tarbis" = the story "Tarbis of the Lake"; "King Pharnabazus" = Farnsworth Wright; "Balkis" = "The Return of Balkis"; "Vathek Episode" = "The Third Episode of Vathek: The Story of the Princess Zulkaïs and the Prince Kalilah"; "French Market": in New Orleans.]See and hear more Lovecraftian Items at the sister sites to these Flickr collections at:cthulhuwho1.comandwww.youtube.com/user/CthulhuWho1
