| 説明 | A bottle of Coolship Red from Allagash Brewing Company in Portland, Maine, at In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst in Eizeringen, Belgium.Coolship Red is a 5,7% abv frambozen type of fruit lambic. It was made by steeping two year old lambics, made at Allagash, with local raspberries for 4 months, the beer was then blended with a small portion of young lambic and bottled for secondary fermentation.It poured a hazy reddish orange color with hardly any head. It sported a fairly complex sour aroma with notes of fresh hay, melon, ripe berries and a funky barnyard note. The mouthfeel was light, with a good acidity. The flavor started out with sour raspberries, freshly cut hay, a mild sweetness and a big dose of lemon sourness, bordering on balsamic vinegar. The lemon sourness domintated the aftertaste together with lingering raspberry notes.This is a very refreshing and well made raspberry lambic. Congratulations Allagash![blog entry] |
