| 説明 | From an article I wrote for our local newspaper:The peaceful afternoon was interrupted by a flurry of activity. People were running hither and thither. Pregnant Angela straddled the two boats, keeping them apart with her feet while Pauline, the widow from Basingstoke, yelled "Be careful, dear!" Sharon got a broom and started frantically sweeping the water between the boats. In a matter of seconds it was all over.Moments before, we had been watching a mother swan with her three young cygnets glide gently by when suddenly the babies were caught in the current between the two boats and disappeared from view. The mother dove under the water searching for her babies while the passengers and crew tried to rescue them. When it was over, the cygnets emerged from the back of the boats and were reunited with mom. We continued our leisurely trip up the Thames. |
