| 説明 | Situated at 5,183 m/17,000 ft, Gurudongmar represents the red face (Dongmar) of the Guru Padmasambhava which scares away all evil. It is said the Guru, who introduced Buddhism to Tibet, touched and blessed the lake and that portion of the lake never freezes. Guru Nanak is also said to have visited this place. The melting stream from Gurudongmar Lake meets the Chhombu Chu, flowing from the nearby Tso Lhamu Lake, and together they form the River Teesta, the lifeline of Sikkim.Note: This photo was taken without any lens filter.
