| 説明 | Hsi Lai Temple (西來寺) is the premier Buddhist temple in Southern California, located in Hacienda Heights 15 miles east of Los Angeles.A look at the entrance hall - "Hall of Five Bodhisattvas." Bodhisattvas are junior Buddhas, who have delayed their enlightenment into Buddhahood, in order to assist the faithful in their own search for enlightenment and Buddhahood. Here, each bodhisattva has his/her own likeness and cubicle, and I am under the gate leading to the most beloved bodhisattva, Avalokitesvara, standing for mercy and compassion, shown here by his feminine Chinese likeness, Guanyin. |
