| 説明 | This piece is called "Refugium Peccatorum". Mary is shown here not holding the soul, but comforting. Jesus is shown lifting the body of a soul from purgatory. Since Jesus is the Savior of the World or Salvador del Mundo. He is also show as the one who lifts the soul from the "depths of despair", Psalm 130, and in the Magnificat "and raises the lowly". Mary is showing the poor soul that only Jesus can answer prayers and saves souls, shown here as pushing the soul closer to Jesus. The kneeling soul is shown asking Jesus to save him or fill his heart with joy and love. I didn't put clouds because it shows that Mary and Jesus are not like us and keeps a distant from us. Wasn't Mary human? Jesus was not only Divine but also a man. They come to our aid at anytime. To show that they are not distant from us I made Mary's hand touch the poor soul's head and made it concentrate on Jesus alone. |
