説明 | «Along with Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Os Mutantes, guitarist Tom Zé was one of the founding members of the Tropicalismo movement in the sixties. Tropicalismo is a genre that combines Brazilian rhythms, African grooves, rock ‘n’ roll and avant-garde music. He gained widespread recognition after working with David Byrne of Talking Heads. Zé, who is now well into his seventies, is known for his unconventional approach. He plays the typewriter like an instrument and creates the most unpredictable compositions, which has earned him a reputation as “the Brazilian Zappa”. Zé is a pleasure to watch and listen to. De Standaard described his performance as “finger work of a flaky tinker. The way Zé controls his band and the audience with his angular, almost maniacal body language control is simply unforgettable.”Tom Zé, Lauro Léllis (drums), Jarbas Mariz (acoustic guitar, percussion & vocal), Cristina Carneiro (keyboard & vocal), Felipe Alves (bas & vocals), Renato Lélis (guitar & vocal) & Neusa Santos Martins (producer)»IN: vooruit.be/en/event/2750video «Explaining Things So I Can Confuse You»- www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEvVYRc7kKksample video of the concert at the Vooruit - www.youtube.com/watch?v=BulvFXH8fv0site - www.tomze.com.br/Brazilian Underground Night @Vooruit, Ghent, Belgium, 10/2011 |
