説明 | The long awaited Orange Watch Company MS-5517 has finally been released! The Australian OWC makes watches in the spirit of rare, old Rolex models such as the snowflakes and milsubs (the military watches Rolex made in the '60s for the British Special Boat Service, the elite special forces unit of the Royal Navy). Because Dan, the owner of OWC, was unhappy with the quality of some components throughout the design process the launch had been delayed for nearly two years. It was worth the wait though, as you can see. It's fitted on a black NATO strap here. This is my MS-5517, numbered #50. It's not a chronological numbering, I just picked the last remaining round number from the available cases :). The glass is flat sapphire with inner AR coating, the bezel ceramic with lumed markers. Bezel, dial and sword hands are lumed with superluminova. Each watch is individually tested to the rated 300m water resistance.Though available with Swiss Soprod movement, I picked the Chinese Seagull movement. The Swiss movement is undoubtedly better finished, but a properly installed and regulated premium Seagull movement should function just as well for purposes of normal wear. As the movement is hidden by the closed caseback (as it should be on a diver) I felt no need to double the price of the watch. |
